REQUIREMENTS : The ideal candidate should possess a National Diploma (NQF 6) or Undergraduate Bachelor Degree (NQF 7) in Labour Relations, Labour Law, LLB, or BCOM Law, with at least 3 years of relevant education. Additionally, they should have 2 years of functional experience in Inspection and Enforcement Services and hold a valid driver’s license. The candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of various labour laws and regulations, including the Employment Services Act, Labour Relations Act, and Occupational Health and Safety Act, among others. Key skills required include facilitation, planning, organizing, computer literacy, interpersonal communication, conflict handling, negotiation, problem-solving, and analytical thinking, with the ability to communicate effectively and manage performance.

DUTIES : The role involves conducting inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with labour laws, including the Basic Conditions of Employment Act and Labour Relations Act. This includes planning and executing proactive inspections, managing case files, and contributing to regional inspection plans and reports. Additionally, the role requires conducting advocacy campaigns on labour laws and appearing in court as a state witness when necessary. The goal is to enforce labour legislation, promote compliance, and protect workers’ rights.
