The key purpose for this role is to enable the successful execution of ZEC parts production & distribution. This involves the procurement of raw materials, management of the production schedule, planning of equipment resources, sequencing of machining tasks, maintaining minimum stock of finished goods and coordinating outbound logistics.

Key Outputs and Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with ZEC Product owner to update & maintain product development backlog
  • Leads raw materials planning, forecasting, ordering, payment, budget control, supplier management and effective material quality controls
  • Liaise with stakeholders to determine project timelines & conduct review meetings
  • Work with MEO planning to ensure ZEC support for major overhauls & annual shuts
  • Plan & optimize finished parts stock levels, improve production efficiencies & maintain ZEC product catalogue
  • Facilitate and lead the planned production pre meeting with a focus on materials, equipment and resource requirements
  • Identify and realize cost savings through initiatives such as procurement or production bundling & schedule optimizations
  • Coordinate outbound logistics of finished goods & manage distribution partners.
  • Compute KPIs and publish weekly reports on KPIs
  • Track the cost & savings associated with RE initiatives to ensure financial viability of ZEC
  • Facilitate systemic problem solving and drives continuous improvement to minimize nonvalue adding activities to improve waste or drive process improvements

  • Is an experienced practitioner of the manufacturing way and VPO
  • Prior experience in working in an engineering workshop would be an advantage

The key purpose of this role is to be responsible for creating and sustaining a progressive learning environment for level 2 and 1 teams. This will be done by providing an effective service focused on the acquisition of competence to support brewery performance.

Initiate the training and development process:

  • Get relevant input for training buckets, this is taking from Team room discussions, ITIF, Annual Training Plan and all other problem-solving discussion i.e. 5Why’s, abnormality reports, walkabouts.
  • Collaborate with People Manager and VPO Manager regarding activities onsite
  • Engage with People Business Partner regarding suitable solutions where the training solution does not exist/not part of the Annual Training Calendar
  • Consolidate departmental training needs by reviewing L&D inputs e.g. PDP as input to the annual LNA / budgeting process

Prepare for training:

  • Coordinate the logistics of the required training and ensure relevant candidates are present and available
  • Request Purchase Order requests from the NOCC L&D Services team for external training as per the signed off LNA
  • Obtain approval from Zone L&D Specialist for costs not included in the LNA Implement the learning process

Effective use of SOP’s:

  • Implement the 8 step SOP process
  • (Execution of the SOP’s are relevant and effective, use as training aid), track and check whether people are being trained against SOP, identify gaps in SOP and ensure Line Manager updates the

  • Interact with the shift team leader, Maintenance Controller and HOD’s to determine training needs

Where required, call in additional or specialized resources to assist in the development of training material. Ensure that training material meets the standards of ABI, and follows the training principles of AB InBev
  • Where training material has been supplied suppliers ensure that it meets the needs of the teams and the standards of AB InBev
  • Where training material has been received from central office, verify that it meets regional needs, adapting if necessary

Implement Training:

  • Ensure that where training needs to be undertaken, it is done following ABInBev policy and procedure
  • Present training material, calling in additional or specialized resources as required to assist. Check the effectiveness of training material by conducting post-training evaluations
  • Where evaluations indicate the need to refine training material, this must be completed, and training material updated

Training Administration:

  • Custodian of departmental training record, ensuring that these are readily accessible and adhere to all ABInBev and legal requirements. Where training has occurred, updates relevant training records and, where appropriate, the SAP systems
  • Interacts with individuals to resolve problems relating to training records and provides information relating to queries

The key purpose of this role is to facilitate continuous sustainable improvement in product quality throughout the value chain by optimizing brewing technology and ensuring compulsory adherence to standards. Through VPO practices, this role is to ensure that there is a superior performance relating to Governance against standards, Trending and aiding in foresight of the
department, and Innovation aspects, all executed through correct VPO practices.


Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that the brewery complies with all global technical governance requirements
  • Control and ensure implementation of local and franchise brewing manual content
  • Regulate concession and permit systems• Enforce adherence to standards governed through the PTS (Process Product Technical Specifications)
  • Audit of plants against standard audit template
  • Identify non compliance and opportunities
  • Give specific recommendations to the brewing manager and plant manager regarding action required
  • Feedback to Zone Brewing Manager and highlight areas of concern.

Key roles and responsibilities

Governance & Standards​

  • Support plant with C&A project implementation and ensure that they adhere to the C&A standards within the project​
  • To support the plant with control and automation project implementations by ensuring correct control and automation standards are followed and advising on technologies where applicable​
  • Assist with technology selection by providing the plant with insight into new technologies and making recommendations around these technologies​
  • Provide the plant with Global Technical Specifications (GTS) and Zone Technical Specifications (ZTS) where they exist or assist the plant in developing new standards in conjunction with the regions​
  • Provide the plant with advice of technology implementation during design and commissioning of projects​
  • Lead design and architecture workshops and ensure that a sound design and architecture solution is developed​
  • Ensure that the correct technologies are selected to deliver the solution​
  • Co-ordinate with System Integrators to ensure our C&A standards are adhered to during divisional control and automation projects​
  • Review, update and specify C&A standards​
  • To be the custodians of all manufacturing standards by reviewing standards, updating these standards and developing new standards​
  • Understand current standards and know why and how to implement these​
  • Coach plant staff on current standards​
  • Review standards and make recommendations to improve standards​

Maintenance & Support

  • Resolve issues that have been escalated or assigned as quickly as possible​
  • Log issues that have been escalated and report on these on a weekly basis​
  • Communicate root cause and resolution details​
  • Interact with vendor to ensure quick resolution of issues escalated​
  • Escalating issues to vendors where required by logging the call with them and keeping track of root cause and resolution.​
  • Provide vendors with feedback on software tested and work with them to resolve any issues.​
  • Escalate issues that cannot be resolved, to vendors.​
  • Keep track of vendor escalated issues
  • Support the change control process at the plant to ensure that approved changes are made in accordance with approved procedures and vendor recommendations to the control and automation system as specified by the plant manager and site engineers​
  • Follow-up on the effectiveness and sustainability of changes made​
  • Ensure plant efficiency by maintaining C&A systems uptime and resolution of C&A breakdowns in as short a time period as possible​
  • Attending to and resolving C&A breakdowns both during and after office hours either remotely or by coming to site​
  • Conducting after action reviews to engineer, design and execute sustainable preventative measures​
  • Support plant with problems experienced in the Control and Automation layer that has been escalated to Tech Supply, ZBS Maintenance or Solutions​
  • To support plant with operational control and automation issues that have been escalated to  Tech Supply, ZBS Maintenance or Solutions​
  • Audio visual support for projectors, zoom rooms, auditoriums, training rooms and boardrooms​
  • Escalation point for all help desk issues​
  • Ensure that manufacturing server checks are being done including Avmar backup checks – part of workflow verification to ensure backups are done – hardware, cluster health, server operating system, server application, time sync, SQL, anti-virus, SCCM, SCOM, incidents being driven to closure and deviations are being resolved or incidents logged by manufacturing systems resources or Solutions​
  • Ensure that Inter plc network maintenance – switches for inter plc network not managed by the network team but by region – is being done​
  • Act as single point of contact for outsourced Solutions services: Cameras, IT generators, IT UPS, IT networks

Continuity & Risk: 

  • To ensure and maintain control and automation systems uptime by continuously assessing and mitigating risks, resolving breakdowns and instituting sustainable prevention measures​
  • Conducting C&A risk assessments and recommending mitigation as per the site risk assessment process​
  • Executing mitigation efforts in reduction of the risks identified​
